This position will support the accounting and finance functions for the Canadian operations of Peraso Inc. (“Peraso”). This is a hybrid position with three days working in the office and two days working remotely.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Processes customer sale orders and invoices for Accounts Receivable and follow up on delinquent AR as required. Keep a current and accurate backlog report.
  • Customer communication, including issuing sales invoices, applying received payments, and sending payment remittance.
  • Processes vendor invoices for Accounts Payable including preparation of expenses and working with employees across the company for travel and expense reimbursements – process employee expense reports.
  • Bank run –weekly/monthly reconciliation of bank accounts and credit cards, work to resolve any issues/errors, investigate reconciling items in a timely manner.
  • Manage General Ledger Accounting – assist with month-end close process, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards. Ensure all transactions are accurately entered.
  • Prepare Intercompany transactions reconciliations.
  • Assist in reconciling GL accounts on a monthly/quarterly basis with a full understanding of the underlying details.
  • Inventory – work with the operations team to ensure inventory is reconciled monthly.
  • Assist with statutory reporting requirements – e.g. WSIB, Annual Reports, HST etc.
  • Assist with interim year-end and quarterly audits as required.
  • Assist with projects, ad-hoc requests and complete other tasks as required.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:

  • Recognized bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of accounting experience.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems Microsoft BC central is an advantage.
  • Strong MS Excel and Power BI knowledge and practical application experience.
  • Detail-oriented and accurate with attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex issues.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to work well with other departments and senior management.
  • Excellent prioritization and organizational skills.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to identify deficiencies and then develop and implement process improvements to mitigate them.
