Sr. Hardware Lab and Operations Technician

Peraso Technologies Inc. is actively seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Hardware Lab and Operations Technician to join our Hardware Operations team. This position is responsible for assembly, bring-up and screening Peraso’s RF Antenna Modules, hardware evaluation kits and PCB development hardware. In addition, this position requires preparing for local shipments, interface with vendors, monitor product inventory inflow, outflow, and maintaining related documentation.

This position is also responsible for bring-up and screening Peraso’s RF Antenna Modules, assembly of Peraso’s hardware evaluation kits and PCB development hardware. Additional responsibilities include maintaining the hardware lab at Peraso’s Markham facility, working with the Systems, Hardware and Software teams, and other related projects as necessary.

This is an on-site position requiring work predominantly at the Markham facility with occasional visits to our downtown Toronto location or off-site at vendor sites as needed.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Bring up and debug PCBs and tracking internal PCB inventory.
  • Rework PCBs and lab maintenance/organization as needed.
  • Test, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair PCBs.
  • Screen and program new PCBs and run sorting and screening scripts on PCBs.
  • Manage inventories for designated products, assist with physical counts, perform inventory transactions and address inventory control discrepancies.
  • Establish and maintain processes for item shipping packaging and labeling.
  • Utilize digital oscilloscope, digital multi-meter, and a network analyzer to troubleshoot down to the component level.
  • Read and interpret schematics and assembly drawings when provided.
  • Perform repetitive testing according to detailed test procedures.
  • Prepare and receive shipments from our Markham location.
  • Other related projects, as requested.

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:

  • Technical degree or equivalent work experience in relevant field.
  • A minimum of five years' experience in a related sector (PCBs and hardware, or similar domain).
  • Proficient use of digital measurement hardware for characterization and troubleshooting; lab equipment includes digital multi-meters, oscilloscopes, lab power supplies, spectrum analyzers.
  • Familiarity with analog / mixed signal and RF systems is a plus.
  • PCB rework experience, including the removal and replacement / soldering of small passive and active components.
  • Familiarity and experience with assembly of multiple PCB/module systems.
  • Ability to read and comprehend PCB schematics and layout to assist in circuit debugging.
  • Proficiency in complex excel spreadsheets.
  • Experience in developing test and characterization flows using scripting languages, such as Python or Matlab is a plus.
